		<description>It pains me, too, Kate, that the arts are the &quot;first to go&quot; when the budget-axe is being applied to the school district. For many students, the arts are the only thing keeping them in school, whether it&#039;s wood shop, band, drama, or the art room. 
  I am in the course of being diagnosed with ADD at the ripe age of 68; I have spent my entire life wondering why I am &quot;different.&quot; I loved most of school, but not the social scene and PE--I hated those. Right now, my challenges are organization and sleep. I&#039;m hoping meds will help. 
  Even if doctors HAD known about ADHD back when I was young, I doubt that I&#039;d ever have been diagnosed as I was quiet and shy. I&#039;ll be following your blog, now that I know about it. Thanks for writing</description>
