Kate Garchinsky - WePAC

On Wednesday, April 11, I read my manuscript, Time to Fly to three classes of Kindergartners and First Graders at Charles Drew School in West Philadelphia, as part of WePAC’s celebration of National Library Week. In the past 2 years, WePAC (West Philadelphia Alliance for Children) has reopened, staffed, and stocked dozens of libraries in underserved communities on a volunteer basis. Other writers, illustrators, and local celebrities who participated include: Gene BarrettaBrian BiggsBecky BirthaLindsay Barrett GeorgeDan GutmanBob McLeodKathye PetrieMatt PhelanDeborah Kogan RayMichael SmerconishChrysa SmithPamela TuckDavid WiesnerState Representative Michelle BrownleeCassandra Hayes, and NBC10 Anchor Lori Wilson.
