What can I say. When my Mommy is busy, I suffer for it. I do not get to use the computer. I do not get to sit on her lap as much. I do, however, get more time outside in the tall grass around our cabin. There is a lot to sniff (trails of chipmunks! squirrels! deer! moose! BEARS!) and find (bones! tennis balls! poo!) around our place. It has been a very nice summer with lots of long walks in the woods, rides in the Jeep, hikes up mountains, meeting other dogs. Now that summer is almost over I can hardly wait for winter. Snow! Can you believe that our first snowstorm may only be a month or two away?
Here are some things that I have learned in my first year of living in Colorado:
--Never sacrifice comfort for style. Comfort is a priority.
--The bigger the poo, the bigger the animal that left it.
--Bears smell SCARY. Even if I haven't seen one yet, I know they are big and fierce!
--It is ok for a dog to have footwear. Especially on days minus 40 degrees!
--A fireplace is best enjoyed with a crackling fire in it. No matter what the season.
--Wildflowers are especially fun to sniff, but should never be trampled.
--Evergreen trees make good umbrellas.
--The best colors come out at sunset.
--Snow is best sniffed deeply, and eaten voraciously. It makes a good substitute for water.
--Never trust a dog who's off-leash. Not until they wag their tail and come up to your butt and sniff it "hello!"
--It's ok to get dirty sometimes. The dirtier your fur, the more fun you're having.
--Say hello to everyone you meet on the street. Chances are they're friendly and will say hello back. If not, maybe you'll make their day. :)
Alright Mommy, I'm almost done!
Geez, she really needs to lay off the laptop already. I'm sorry I have to go... be sure to look on our flickr page for more pictures!
