Fifteen Minutes

I’m going to be moving around a bunch in the next few weeks. My lease ends in the apartment that I’ve come to love so much, and I must float around a bit until I the ground beneath me stops moving. In the meantime, I will be doing 15 minute sketches of my current environment while it is still mine.
Here is the first, sketched with one pink, one yellow, and one blue Faber Castell Pitt Pen. I had to work quickly because the light fades so incredibly fast at this time of day. The reflection of the sunset turns the snowcaps from lemon, to strawberry, to blueberry ice. See photos of the same scene in my flickr by clicking on the sketch.
I love you, mountains…
What a great idea. I loved doing 10 minute gesture drawings in art class, so 15 minute landscapes might be cool. And the colors are amazing.
Thanks, Heather! The time restraint forces you to be decisive, and that’s always something I could use some help with. 🙂 Hope you’re doing well. x
