I’d like to bring some attention to a cause with which I’m involved. As a member of the (no_name) Art Group I recently completed a watercolor portrait for a disabled woman in Vietname named Hanh. Hanh suffered a spinal cord injury at the age of 18 and spent most of the past 18 years (she is now 36) lying on a wooden bed. This was her life until the Lifestart Foundation got involved. She now has a three-wheeled motorbike. Read her story here.
Hanh is one of 14 women who received a portrait from our group. The portraits are meant to serve as a memoir, honoring their heritage and identity, and also providing the women with a sense of support from other women around the world.
Hanh and the other women create crafts to raise money for everyday living. Hanh knits scarves and creates greeting cards.
